Cooper Electric Supply Co. awarded one of “50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey – 2008” by NJ Biz

Tinton Falls, NJ (April 2008) - Cooper Electric Supply Co. was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey. The award program, created in 2005 is produced by NJBIZ and sponsored by Gibbons, P.C., Sobel & Co., LLC, Staffing Alternatives and Novo Nordisk.

This survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in New Jersey, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The Best Places to Work in New Jersey program is made up of 50 companies split into two groups: 25 medium-sized companies (25-249 employees) and 25 large-sized companies (more than 250 employees). Cooper Electric Supply Co. has been named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey in the large category.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

- Have at least 25 employees in New Jersey;
- Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business;
- Be a publicly or privately held business;
- Have a facility in New Jersey;

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in New Jersey with assistance from ModernThink LLC, who analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

The Best Places to Work in New Jersey awards ceremony was on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, where representatives from Cooper’s management team attended the event. They were presented with an award plaque commemorating this achievement. Cooper was a “first time” nominee; they were part of a distinguished group in the large company category, which included companies such as Campbell’s Soup and Deloitte & Touche, to name a few. The companies were ranked based an overall percentage derived from the survey the employees completed back in January. Of the hundreds of companies that were submitted for consideration, the top 50 were named Best Places to Work. Cooper ranked 21 out of the 50 companies.

"Being named as one of the 50 Best Places to Work in NJ is great achievement”, said Michael Dudas, President of Cooper Electric Supply Co. “It could not have been possible without all of the hard work and dedication of our employees. We thank them for everything they do…everyday. It is their commitment, work ethic, and loyalty that makes Cooper one of the Best Places to Work.
