This 8 in diameter steel white recessed can light blank-up plate is used to cover the exposed hole left in the ceiling by unused & abandoned six or seven inch diameter can lights. It covers the entire fixture hole and prevents heat loss and risk of shock if the socket is energized and open. The smooth white powder-coated finish blends with white ceiling paint for an attractive appearance in any finished space. The tapered 1/4 in outside edge seats firmly against the ceiling surface and prevents heat loss through the fixture opening as well as insect entry. EASY INSTALLATION: 1. Screw the non-conductive threaded hub into the light socket. 2. Connect the spring to the hub eyelet and then stretch and connect it to the cover plate bracket. 3. Carefully allow the cover to spring back against the ceiling surface. The spring tension holds the cover plate tightly to the ceiling surface.
