This Modicon MCM safe RS485 bus expansion module for remote extension has 2-channel transmitter/receiver network connection and is fitted with captive screw clamp terminals. It enables the connection of modular safety controllers type XPSMCMCP0802 and XPSMCMC10804 with the expansion modules placed at distances up to 50m (164ft.) using RS485 shielded cables. It is furnished with screw clamp terminals, removable terminal block for electrical connection. It is an IP20 rated product. Combined with safe RS485 bus expansion module type XPSMCMCO0000S1, It allows to create up to 6 decentralized I/O islands. This module figures LEDs on its front face, displaying the status (power supply, run, internal or external errors). This safe bus expansion module is connected to other I/O modules via the backplane expansion connector, and uses a RS485 serial interface shielded cable to connect to safe RS485 bus expansion module and create decentralized I/O islands.
