AC-Lite® Cables from Atkore, sometimes referred to as BX cable, are a commercial wiring method favored by installers for their flexible interlocked aluminum armor, which provides mechanical protection. These versatile 600V cables with THHN conductors have certain construction limitations due to the inception and design of UL Standard 4 over 100 years ago. The UL Standard allows for 2, 3, or 4 conductors, individually wrapped with moisture-resistant, fire-retardant paper and twisted from 14 AWG to 1 AWG. Type AC Cable is the foundation of all interlocked armored cable assemblies we have today.
