8502W non-reversing vacuum contactors are used to switch capacitors, transformers and electric motors where overload protection is separately provided. These nonreversing contactors are well suited for heavy-duty applications in harsh environments. The power contacts of this contactor are sealed in ceramic tubes, called vacuum interrupters or vacuum bottles, where the air has been evacuated. This 3 pole NEMA Size 6 vacuum contactor has a 540 ampere rating. These contactors have 150 HP at 200 VAC, 200 HP at 230 VAC, 300 HP at 380 VAC, 400 at 460 VAC and 400 HP at 575 VAC ratings. This contactor has a 110/120 VAC 50/60 Hz coil that is wired for common control. This vacuum contactor is an open device without an enclosure.
