Device partition for 2-1/8in deep 4in square junction boxes with 1-1/4in 1-1/2in or 2in raised covers are used when low voltage and power devices are installed next to each other in one box. They separate line voltage and low voltage into their own compartments preventing any harmful interference that power devices can induce in low voltage devices that are installed next to them. To prevent breaking off too many scored tabs it is recommended that the partition is in place in the box before the scored tab is broken off.
