3M Scotchcast Closures 8980 Series use a gravity fill method of encapsulating and protecting copper cables in either an underground or direct buried environment.Six rigid body closure sizes are offered to meet various cable diameters and splicing capacities for the outside plant environment. Kits are packed with 3M Scotchcast Splice Encapsulating Compound 4407 for permanent protection. For the 8983, 8984, 8985, and 8986 closures, 3M Scotchlok Connectors, 3M MS.
